Licence Terms:
Photography Licensing Terms & Conditions – Connor Alan Photography
1. Copyright & Ownership
All photographs and video content produced by Connor Alan Photography are protected under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, and remain the intellectual property of Connor Alan Photography unless otherwise agreed in writing.
By commissioning our services, you are purchasing a license to use the final images or video content — not ownership of the original works.
2. Licensing Terms
No image or video may be used—whether online, in print, or otherwise—until full payment of the corresponding invoice has been received and cleared.
Upon payment, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the final delivered content strictly for the purpose(s) discussed at the time of commissioning.
Images are delivered in social media–ready format by default.
If you intend to print the images, you must explicitly request full-resolution files, which will be supplied accordingly.
3. Purchase of RAW Files
Full ownership rights, including copyright, may be transferred through a separate purchase of RAW files.
Upon purchasing RAW files, the client assumes full responsibility for storage and backup. Connor Alan Photography will not retain purchased RAW files.
RAW file access is subject to separate pricing, which is significantly higher than standard licensing rates and available on request.
4. Image & Video Delivery
Final edited content is delivered via a secure file transfer system in social media–ready format.
If you intend to use images for print or require higher resolution versions, these must be explicitly requested at or after the time of delivery.
All unpurchased RAW files will be securely archived using offline encrypted storage, in full compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
5. Invoicing & Late Payment
All invoices are due within 30 calendar days from the date of issue. The due date will be clearly stated on your invoice.
In accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, the following will apply if payment is not received on time:
Statutory interest of 8% plus the Bank of England base rate will be charged on the overdue amount, calculated per day from the due date until full payment is received.
A one-off debt recovery fee will also be applied:
£40 for debts under £1,000
£70 for debts between £1,000–£10,000
£100 for debts over £10,000
Use of any content prior to payment is strictly prohibited, and continued non-payment may result in legal action and revocation of the image/video usage license.
6. Unauthorised Use Penalties
Use of any image or video without full payment is a violation of UK copyright law and will incur the following penalty charges:
£300 per image
£300 per 5 seconds of video
£600 per 25 seconds of video
£1,200 per full minute (and any part thereof)
These charges are enforceable and will be pursued through legal channels.
7. Data Retention & Security
All unpurchased RAW files are stored on offline, encrypted drives.
Data is retained indefinitely to facilitate client access or future licensing, in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Client data is used only for business-related purposes and is never shared or sold.
8. Permitted Usage
Upon payment, clients may use the content:
On personal or commercial social media platforms
On websites, blogs, or for digital marketing, if agreed
For non-resale purposes only
Use in print or high-resolution publishing requires requesting the appropriate file format. Resale, redistribution, or sublicensing is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
